1 out of 4 public hotspots is unsafe
Public Wi-Fi hotspots are anything but safe when it comes to the threat of hacking. The Kaspersky Lab security team investigated more than 31 million Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide. What did they find? 28% of them are not protected by a password or any form of encryption. That’s a real gift for cybercriminals, who are easily able to intercept data (passwords, photos, videos, bank details, etc.) from laptops or smartphones connected to the hotspots in question.
