As children get older, they might look for less appropriate sites. In that case parental controls are no longer sufficient. Children are smart enough to get around your settings, with the help of the internet or a friend who knows how to do this. Or they will simply use someone else’s device. Telling your children about the risks is a very important part of their education. Teach them to deal with what they find online. Tell them not to believe everything they see and that they should express their emotions. They need to know that they can discuss everything they see online with you, without judgement.
